• Contact details: your name, email address, company name, and phone number if you give it to us.
• Business details: such as your trade, state and ABN when you start a trial.
• Enquiries and registrations: messages you send us, waitlist sign-ups, and event registrations and attendance.
• Calculator responses: the answers you enter into our online calculators, and your email address if you choose to give it.
• Technical information: your IP address, browser and device information, and the pages you request, which our hosting and security providers process automatically.
• Email engagement: when we send you emails, our email provider may record whether they were delivered, opened or clicked.

We do not intend to collect sensitive information (such as health information) through our website. You can browse our website without telling us who you are, but we need your contact details to respond to enquiries or to provide events and trials.

We collect personal information directly from you when you fill in a form, register for an event, email us or start a trial. Technical information is collected automatically when you visit the site.

• to operate, secure and improve our website, including preventing spam and abuse;
• to send you service messages, and marketing where you have agreed to receive it;
• to meet our legal obligations.

We only send marketing emails where you have consented or where the law otherwise allows it. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we action unsubscribe requests within 5 business days. We do not sell your personal information.

We share personal information with service providers who help us run our business, such as website hosting, database, email delivery and security providers, only as needed for them to provide those services to us. We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

Our main database is hosted in Australia. Some of our service providers process information in other countries, including the United States. BusinessVault is operated by CRUD.IT Solutions Inc., a company based in the Philippines, and our team there may access personal information to provide and support the service. Where we disclose information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is handled in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Documents and records that our customers upload to the BusinessVault platform may contain personal information about other people, such as employees or subcontractors. We handle this information on behalf of our customers, following their instructions, to provide the platform. Customers are responsible for making sure they are entitled to upload it. Requests about that information should go first to the relevant customer.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including encryption, access controls and monitoring. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law, and then securely destroy or de-identify it.

If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Our website uses only essential cookies, such as those that keep authorised staff signed in. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy first.

You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing privacy@businessvault.com.au. We may need to verify your identity. We will respond within 30 days and do not charge for making a request.

You can also ask us to delete your information. We will do so unless we need to keep it to provide a service you have requested or to meet a legal obligation.

If you think we have breached your privacy, please contact our Privacy Officer at privacy@businessvault.com.au. We will acknowledge your complaint, look into it, and respond in writing within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the OAIC at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Our services are designed for businesses and are not directed at people under 18.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new “last updated” date and, for material changes, notify customers by email or in-app notice.
